Idul Fitri, more commonly referred to in Indonesia as Lebaran, is the celebration that comes at the end of the Muslim month of fasting, Ramadhan. For Muslims during the holy month of Ramadhan, the fast begins in the morning just before sunrise, at Imsak, and is broken at maghrib which falls at sunset.
On the 18th of May 2018, BIT held its annual employee gathering and being that it was held during the fasting month, a joint Iftar session was organized at The Lunch Room at ANZ Tower.
The evening started with an address by a religious leader who also led the prayers before iftar.
Keeping to the traditions of breaking a fast with sweet foods, an array of takjil was served for those who were breaking their fast, followed by a selection of local delights for dinner.
The evening was also used to celebrate the monthly employee birthdays. Wishes were conveyed and shared over cake and tunes.
Carrying on the celebratory spirit of the evening, a number of employees were also awarded for their success in being certified Under Microsoft certifications.
